LA RAMA PROJECT IS A NON-PROFIT BASED IN PANAMA FOCUSED ON THE PROTECTION AND DEVELOPMENT OF BIODIVERSE ECOSYSTEMS.
OUR REFORESTATION LOCATION
Our facility is located on a 60 acre recently deforested cattle pasture on the tip of Punta Burica, a peninsula on the border of Costa Rica and Panama.
Punta Burica is one of the most biodiverse places in the world under immediate threat of rapid deforestation. The location will double as a protected wildlife refuge and ecological data collection center.
THE PROBLEM
OUR SOLUTION
We are building a large scale reforestation facility, tree nursery, and distribution plan. Our techniques include:
TREE DIVERSIFICATION
Monocultures are bad. We focus on cultivating on a wide array of native and edible tree species
PROPAGATION
Use innovative cloning techniques in an effort to rapidly and effectively cultivate new trees and plants
REGENERATIVE FARMING
Increasing yields and maintaining healthy soil with sustainable farming practices
RELOCATION
Take saplings from the wild with no chance of survival and relocating them to suitable conditions
MYCOREMEDIATION
The use of beneficial fungus to restore sterile soil on palm oil plantations hit by disease and deforested lands
REPURPOSING
Up cycling unused cow pastures into thriving young ecosystems
PRESERVATION
Sustain an environment where local biodiversity can flourish
Be a part of this special opportunity in Punta Burica, Panama to save the rainforest from deforestation.
